Our Big Girl

Our big girl sat on Santa's knee without crying.

Our big girl no longer sleeps in a baby crib. She helped Daddy make her a big girl bed.

Our big girl can sit pretty.

Halloween Photos

Charity was a cowgirl for Halloween this year. It's funny, though how many old people still managed to call her a cowboy--um do boys wear pink and have long curly blond ringlets? I like to laugh at them in my head--and now with you.

Charity absolutely loved Trick-or-Treating, and got good at it. She wasn't all that good at saying "trick-or-treat", instead she just stared at them or signed "please". She was good at taking huge handfuls of candy, sometimes multiple handfuls, and got away with it because she's so cute. She was very good at remembering to say "thank you" as she grabs her last handful. She now finds her Halloween bucket and carries it around the house asking to go out trick-or-treating again.

Here's a picture of Charity from Halloween last year. Look how much she's grown! Look how much more hair she has too!

Summer Times is Ending

As the summer is ending the schools are in session now and there are much fewer big kids at the park. But that also means that the extra fun things at the park (like the Splash Park and the Carousel are closed up). There's still a lot to enjoy. Charity likes to take her puppy, Jack, to the park with her.

Charity's working on potty training. So, far I'm wishing I could just send her off to a special potty training school/day camp. When she gets caught at random times getting into things in the bathroom that she knows she shouldn't be in, she'll run over to her potty and pretend this is what she was doing the whole time. Little smart'alec!

She is definitely showing that the big "2" is nearly here. She's getting more and more independent and more and more bossy each day. We can't wait until this little defiant stage is through.

She also has been watching Baby Signing time (and lots of it). It's not only giving her new ways to communicate using her hands, but she's doing much better at her verbal words and sentences.

Charity missed her Daddy so much while he was away at camp for two weeks. She was so happy to see him home again. She cried and fussed for the first few days if he ever tried to leave her side again. Can you say "Daddy's Girl"?!

One long day at the mall!

Trying on pretty outfits, and silly ones too. Here Charity was enjoying twirling in front of the mirrors watching the dress twirl with her.

Made a new friend. Sadly it wasn't a candy necklace.

Peek-a-boo!

Did I mention it was a long day?
